Recently, the new mutant strains – Omicron firstly detected in South Africa spread rapidly, which causes concerns of the people all over the world. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tests can detect Omicron are urgently needed. 

 

        Tigsun COVID-19 antigen test is valid for detecting new mutant strains- 'Omicron' variant, B.1.1.529, which has mutation sites P13L, Δ31-33, R203K, G204R on the N protein. From the sequence comparison and bioinformatics analysis of Omicron, those mutation sites are different from the detection site of Tigsun antigen assay. Our internal lab experiment showed the performance 

 is unaffected. 

 

        Previoulsy, Tigsun has also verified that the Alpha variant (B.1.1.7), Beta variant (B.1.351), Gamma variant (P.1), and Delta variant (B.1.617.2) can be detected without any reduction. The results are also supported by independent experimental data from the UK DHSC Department of Health and WHO FIND report.
