Expected use
This kit is mainly used for quantitative determination of albumin in human urine in vitro.

Albumin is the main component of plasma proteins, molecular weight is 66kD. When the function of renal tubular is reduced and damaged, albumin can not be sufficiently absorbed back to cause an content increase of albumin in urine and even it get proteinuria. Albumin is able to bind and transport fatty acids, pigments, drugs, cations, vitamin C and so on. It is the most important transport protein. The content of albumin in human urine and plasma is an important basis to assess the renal function, the site of kidney injury, diabetes, hypertension and drug damage to renal function. The simultaneous determination of urinary β2-microglobulin can help to diagnose glomerular or tubular diseases and identify the site of kidney damage.
Detection principle
This kit uses competitive approach. This kit uses albumin antibody to coat microplate to make solid-phase antibody. In competitive inhibition reaction, a certain amount of solid-phase antibody reacts with enzyme-labeled albumin and non-labeled antigen (standard or test sample), when the reaction achieve a equilibrium, complex (solid-phase antibody - enzyme-labeled albumin) formed. The luminescent substrate was added and the luminescence was measured with a photon counter. As the albumin concentration in the sample increases, the luminescence decreases gradually with a linear relationship. Use the way of four parameters or double logarithmic linear fit, the instrument software will automatically calculate the content of the sample.
